From 8th to 10th September Tetide in Italy organises a Cave Conservation Summer Workshop in Ostuni (BR).
The workshop is organized by Tetide APS with the support of the Conservation Division of the National Speleological Society in collaboration with the Speleological Group Natura Explore APS , the Speleological Excursion Group of Ostuni and the Grotte Melphicta Kalipè Group and with the patronage of the Italian Speleological Society and the Speleological Federation Pugliese , the workshop is among the Clean up the Dark 2023 initiatives
The aim of the workshop, aimed not only at cavers, is to raise awareness of cave conservation issues and will promote responsible caving practices among the participants. Participants will gain a better understanding of the ecological and cultural importance of caves and learn how to minimize their impact on cave ecosystems as they explore.
In the long term, the implementation of the FSE Charter of Protection and the continued promotion of responsible caving practices will lead to the sustainable conservation of cave ecosystems for future generations.
